Radius Advantage Migration FAQ
Nexa is pleased to introduce the newest version of the Radius back-office product, Radius Advantage. In addition to its new look and feel, Radius Advantage contains new features and capabilities that were designed based on user feedback, and intended to make the product more powerful while maintaining its ease of use.
Radius Advantage is also being released in conjunction with the NASD’s implementation of Phase III of OATS. Radius Advantage has been designed to allow firms to input the information required on new orders to remain compliant with OATS Phase III. Please be aware, Radius Advantage is capable of capturing and reporting OATS information for orders initiated through this system only. If your firm sends orders in OATS-reportable securities via outside trading systems, the telephone, instant messaging, or any other means, it will be your firm’s responsibility to transmit this information to the NASD.

How do I download Radius Advantage?
Click here to download Radius Advantage or go to www.nexatech.com/update/radiusadvantage/radiusadvantage.exe
Can I use the “Update Radius” option available through the Start menu to upgrade to Radius Advantage?
No, because Radius Advantage is a brand new application, and not simply a new version of the existing Radius product, it will be necessary for users to complete a standard new installation procedure. This installation will be initiated by clicking on the link referenced in question 1 above. The installation of a new application typically requires the user to have local administrative rights on their machine; if the user does not have administrative rights on their machine, they may need to contact their firm’s IT support desk to complete the install.
What is my Login and Password?
You will use the same Login information for Radius Advantage as you used for Radius.
May I be logged into both systems simultaneously?
Yes, users will be able to log into both systems simultaneously during the transition period (June 8th July 7th)
May I choose not to upgrade?
The Radius system will continue to be supported until 6 pm EST, July 7. At that time, the Radius system will be disabled, and all users will need to migrate to Radius Advantage. The need to upgrade is driven by the fact that Phase III of OATS implementation becomes effective July 10, and these new rules require the use of two fields that are only available in Radius Advantage (please see A7 for a more detailed explanation). Again, as of close of business July 7th, the current version of Radius will neither be supported nor available.
What’s new in Radius Advantage?
In addition to its new look and feel, Radius Advantage includes:
- A new highly-customizable layout that allows the user to arrange the workspace to best fit their needs. Users may now “undock” particular components of the system (by holding the left mouse button + Shift over the grab bar of a window), and remove them from the defined frame of the application. For example, if a user wanted to view and use the Orders window, but did not need to work with any other Radius Advantage components at that time, the user could “undock” the Orders window and interact with it independent of the rest of the application (which could then be minimized in order to conserve space on the desktop).
- Also included are new features, such as the ability to cancel/replace open orders, and new tools, such as the drag and drop allocation tool.
Will Radius Advantage contain the necessary fields to comply with the NASD’s OATS Phase III implementation?
Radius Advantage contains new Call Time and Call Date fields on the New Order Ticket, which will allow members to comply with the NASD requirement that they “capture and report the time the order is received by the member from the customer for all orders.” Users should enter the time and date that the order-taker received order instructions from the client in these fields. NOTE! Per the NASD, if the time between order receipt and order entry is less than one (1) second, then the requirement to enter the order receipt time is relieved. For example, if a user enters a new order into Radius as they are receiving it from the customer, it is not necessary to enter the order receipt date and time into the Call Date and Call Time fields.
