Eric Stoop – President
Eric Stoop founded Nexa Technologies, Inc. in 1999 in order to build a powerful suite of trading solutions that could trade in any currency, any language and any market. Prior to founding the company, he founded Nexa Securities, a company that catered to active traders, in Southern California. Nexa Securities was sold in 2001 to a Taiwan-based group.
Stoop is a trained attorney. During his years in the legal field, he specialized in business litigation and securities law in Irvine, California. He graduated from Willamette College of Law in Salem, Oregon, with a Juris Doctorate, and has a Bachelor of Arts from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.
Robert K. Bishop – Senior Vice President, Finance
Robert Bishop joined Nexa Technologies, Inc. in June 2005 and is responsible for all accounting, finance and related functions decentralized from the parent company to Nexa. He is responsible for management reporting and financial reporting for the company as well as developing and maintaining the internal control framework for the business.
Prior to joining Nexa, Mr. Bishop served as Vice President and Controller for Prudential Real Estate & Relocation Services, Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prudential Financial, Inc. He graduated from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, with Masters in Business Administration, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a license as a Certified Public Accountant.
Todd Boppell – Senior Vice President, Operations
Todd Boppell joined Nexa Technologies, Inc. in February 2000 and has been instrumental in designing network infrastructure for Nexa’s suite of trading solutions. Bopell designed and implemented load balancing and redundancy architecture for the Nexa platforms and currently manages the Nexa operations teams – including client support, networking and infrastructure, database and systems administration.
Prior to joining Nexa, Boppell was a technical team manager for Business System Specialties, Inc., where he lead database and networking teams in ERP implementation projects. He also managed a team of developers and networking specialists. Boppell graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Southern California, where he studied psychology.
R. Bruce Pitt Senior Vice President, Engineering
Bruce Pitt joined Nexa as one of the original team members in 1999 and has helped define the architectural and technology direction for Nexa ever since. Mr. Pitt designed and implemented Nexa’s first messaging protocols, first feed handlers, first ticker plant, first order management system, first execution venue connections, first buy power and margin calculations, and assisted in the initial database schema and selection process. Though this initial team’s efforts, Nexa’s first trading platform was ready for market in 8 months.
Prior to joining Nexa, Mr. Pitt worked for two Fortune 500 companies and at six startups. His responsibilities have been managerial, as well as a variety of diverse engineering projects across many industries. His specialty prior to coming to Nexa was mission critical, high availability, real-time embedded systems. He has worked in the Banking, Defense, Telephony, Computer Hardware and Peripherals, Medical, and Aeronautics industries..
Thomas Neal Falkenberry, CFA Senior Vice President, Tick Data Division
Neal Falkenberry acquired Tick Data, Inc. in June of 1999 to serve as the data platform for his firm's research and system development efforts. His trading strategies are highly data-centric, employing both expert system logic and neural networks, and require clean, accurate intraday time series. He and his partner sold the company to Penson Worldwide, Inc. in January 2005, yet he continues to manage it as a division of Nexa Technologies, Inc., Penson’s technology business unit.
Mr. Falkenberry is the Founder and Chief Investment Strategist for Autumn Wind Asset Management, Inc., a SEC-registered investment advisory firm dedicated to providing equity and fixed income management services to high net worth taxable clients. Prior to founding this firm, he served in the capacity of Senior Portfolio Manager from 1988-1999 for two large investment banks providing similar investment services.
Mr. Falkenberry is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Washington Society of Financial Analysts. He received degrees in Finance and Quantitative Methods from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Kristen J. Mologousis Senior Vice President, Business Development and Market Data
Mrs. Mologousis joined Nexa Technologies in 2006 from an Independent Consulting firm specializing in the financial industry and market data. Prior to her consulting, she was employed at HyperFeed Technologies and PCQuote coming from the Technology Design and Planning Division of Sears Technology Systems (a co-owned company by Sears and IBM) to launch the company’s first network services department. In 1995, she assumed the role of director of business development and was responsible for establishing and maintaining vital relationships with HyperFeed’s largest clients. In 1998, she was named vice president of sales, a position in which her leadership and technical sales skills allowed the company to increase its market share and establish itself as a premier source of market information for today’s financial industry. As of 1999, she was named senior vice president of sales and marketing, overseeing the all sales, marketing, product management and PCQuote.com (internet subsidiary) initiatives with more than thirteen years of service at HyperFeed and over 2 decades of experience in the technical and financial services industries. |
